Finished! Myself and friend, James Rogers (blog link coming soon) also a student at HSAD have finally finished and submitted our entry for the 2011 D&AD student awards. We chose the Arjowiggins brief which to summarise asked us to create a viral that would inspire other creative people to use their paper.
We decided that we would create a short movie made entirely from paper and that this would serve as an introduction to our extension of the brief.. the flash animation, which was made just using samples of Arjowiggins paper to give the unique textures and colours shown, we stated that this would only be the first part and asked other designers/creatives to download our hypothetical swatch packs to continue the story as they saw fit, which would lead to one totally individual animation that they could be a part of.
This style and scale of animation is something that neither of us had ever done before but we were very pleased with the outcome.. The photographing of the set alone took us 28 hours, but was certainly worth it!
